Stay Safe While Navigating Through the Fog with Furuno's Target Analyzer Feature!
Have you ever used Furuno's Target Analyzer function to stay safe on the water while navigating through fog?
Capt. Jack Carlson of Two Conchs Charters explains how Target Analyzer helps him stay safe while boating in foggy conditions by being able to see when targets are approaching his boat. With your Radar and Target Analyzer on, targets moving toward your vessel are shown in red, while stationary targets or targets moving away appear green.
Available within a TZtouchXL/TZTouch3 Radar window or with a Radar overlay on your chart, Target Analyzer improves situational awareness and can increase safety by showing you which targets to look out for, any time of the day.

      Hey Septimus. Great question. According Suzuki, the ECM, BCM and main wiring harness were all changed in 2022. To use Fish Hunter Drive you need these compatible items onboard. Since these items didn’t exist before 2022, Suzuki motors made prior to this time cannot be used with the Fish Hunter Drive.

    Newbies Googling for this are probably using the term "bottom contour recording" or something similar, and they will find it for your competitors. But not Furuno because you prefer PBG; bathmetric generation, which is a fine professional term, but one that may cause shoppers to overlook your offering.

    So it's like the TCAS system in aviation with the colour coding. Very clever. Just a couple of questions.. Does this have a colour blind mode? So for those who are red / green colour blind like myself, another specified colour could be used in place of red? And also would you consider incorporating audible collision avoidance instructions if a collision was considered to be imminent? Such as "Turn hard starboard" to try and give the person in command a simple way of avoiding a collision? Keep up the great work!

    • @FurunoMarineElectronics
      @FurunoMarineElectronics 3 месяца назад

      Thanks for watching! This feature does not have a color blind mode, but that is a great suggestion. You can change the color of the targets when you are in regular Radar mode, which will help you see the targets. With TZtouchXL, there is a new feature called AI Avoidance, which has both an audio and visual alarm that warns you of a collision and even offers you a recommend course to navigate around the obstacle. Hope that answers your question. BTW, the new FCV600 & FCV800 Fish Finder do have a mode specifically made for people who are color blind, so the idea is definitely on our developers mind!

    • @timmoore1020
      @timmoore1020 7 месяцев назад

      Rafeek- Great question and great setup you have. This could conceivably work the same way on any outboard just as it does with Suzuki, but unfortunately Mercury chose to partner specifically with Simrad autopilots. The main functionality behind the operation of Fish Hunter Drive is the communication between the Furuno NavPilot 300 autopilot and the Suzuki outboard motors. Since Fish Hunter Drive requires a Furuno NavPilot 300 autopilot to function, there is no way we can make it work with Mercury outboards because Mercury has chosen to lock down control of their outboards to work with only Simrad autopilots.

    Need clarification, I have a pair of ap 250 and everything installed except the gateway . Is it one gateway per motor or one gateway does multiple . The harness comes to a y section that joins my 2 smg4 gauges but using the one gateway I can’t work out where to plug it in to make everything work . I tried unplugging port smg 4 and plugging gateway there but nmea doesn’t power up port smg4 . Am I meant to have an adapter cable to get them to co - exist . Feels like I’m missing something . Is there meant to be a second cable allowing smg to be powered up ?any help appreciated

    • @FurunoMarineElectronics
      @FurunoMarineElectronics 10 месяцев назад

      Good day and thanks for the question. You are indeed missing something, so your feelings are correct. You'll need to add a Suzuki Y cable with a part number of 36667-96L40. This Y cable will allow you to disconnect the current wire from your Port SMG4. You'll then plug this Y cable into the port on the SMG4. Once you do that, you now have two open ports in the Y cable. Plug the original SMG4 cable into one side and the gateway into the other side. To answer your second question, you do only need 1 Suzuki gateway for up to 6 motors, but it has to be a specific gateway. Please ensure the gateway you are using for FishHunter Drive has a part number of 34923-96L11, L12, or L13. If you do have this gateway, you'll be good to go once you add the Y cable and do your system setup. If you need more information, here are two great resources to use. www.furunousa.com/-/media/sites/furuno/document_library/technical_info/interfacing_and_installation/interfacing_and_installation/suzuki_fishhunter_setup_supplement.pdf www.furunousa.com/-/media/sites/furuno/document_library/technical_info/interfacing_and_installation/interfacing_and_installation/navpilot_fishhunter_drive.pdf Please let us know how everything turns out for you. Hey guys we are trying to get this working on my boat in Australia but don’t have much tech support here! Do you need to have a Suzuki screen or will it work with the Suzuki smart gauge? I’m running two TZT3’s

      Thanks for watching! It isn't so much that you need a Suzuki screen permanently to use Fish Hunter Drive, but you do need one to set Fish Hunter Drive up. Unfortunately, Suzuki didn't allow for the system to be setup through a Suzuki Smart Gauge (SMG4), so to get your system setup you will need some additional components. Once your system is setup, your TZT3's will handle everything you want to do. I am not sure if you have tried reaching out to them yet, or where in Australia you are located, but I speak to the guys at JN Taylor (Taylor Marine) in Australia fairly regularly and I know they have already done a number of Fish Funder Drive installs for customers. They have locations in Henderson, Mt. Gambier, Adelaide, and Port Lincoln if that helps you. For now, here is some reading material. These documents show you what it takes to get Fish Hunter Drive set up and running. It will look like a lot of information, but truth be told, it's not really that hard once you have everything you need on hand. We just went through great pains to make the attached documents as thorough as possible. If you can't get everything setup, please let us know and we'll help you anyway we can. Maybe you can talk my US bosses into flying me to Australia. 😂 I've always want to visit. www.furunousa.com/-/media/sites/furuno/document_library/technical_info/interfacing_and_installation/interfacing_and_installation/navpilot_fishhunter_drive.pdf www.furunousa.com/-/media/sites/furuno/document_library/technical_info/interfacing_and_installation/interfacing_and_installation/suzuki_fishhunter_setup_supplement.pdf

    My TEU001B rusted and broke within a year. The metal balls inside fell out. Pretty disappointing

      Hello and thanks for watching. We apologize if your TEU001B broke after one year, the warranty period is 2 years, so that is still under warranty. Please contact our USA HQ at 360-834-9300 and ask for warranty repair.

    I'm a retired guy who is mildly tech challenged. I have a Furuno TZtouch 3 and DRS12 open array radar. I had a Furuno radar on my dive charter boat back in the 80's. I was sold on Furuno then, I"m still a Furuno guy. SO, these "comparison" videos drive me a bit crazy. I've been out of boating for a few decades and I have some of the best electronics money can buy for a boat my size. The units are so sophisticated that I will never be able to learn all that they do given where I'm at in life. All that to say I don't care what the comparable Garmin or Raytheon or Simrad unit can or can't do. PLEASE JUST HELP ME LEARN WHAT MINE CAN DO AND HOW TO USE IT!! (eye roll).
